In Thonglor, Bangkok, apart of classy bars, boutique shops, fashionable clubs and restaurants, we can hide ourselves in a zakka cafe named Chico where our kids come often to play with cats in a hut 🐈.
Stepping into a loft-style house amidst green lush garden, we can easily feel a hidden-gem cafe in Tokyo. As this cafe owned by a Japanese, we can taste real Nippon 🎌 food and drink. However, as it is a zakka cafe, we cannot expect any complicated dish more than easy and quick one such as instant ramen 🍜 in various tastes, cooked with added needle mushroom and boiled egg yolk. Tonkatsu taste is my kids' favourite order and served in big portion enough to be shared among two kids. For me, Japanese-style spaghetti 🍝 is the must. Light Hondashi soup can harmonize the flavour of shitake, loin pork, and eggplant 🍆 in the dish. Sorry for no photo here 😭. I always forgot to take a snap before swallowing it at once. About the drinks, all tongues can be pleased; coffee ☕, matcha green tea 🍵, juice , soda juice, ice-cream milk float, etc. Sweets are recommended too such as crispy but soft waffle, jumbo honey 🍯 toast or matcha anmitsu. There's also lunch set from 11.30 A.M.-2 P.M. at 220 THB including main dish, coffee or tea and ice-cream.
Kids will hurry to eat all up so they can rush to play with cats in a hut. At its front door, the hand-writing sign informs us to play with kitties during 11 A.M.-5 P.M. and reserved only for the cafe customers. All cats already get vaccinated. Also please notify the cafe staff before entering and kids should be with parents.
While kids are playing with cats under their dad's supervision, Mrs.Mom can shop around inside. Many girlish accessories 👜💍👒 in Thai chic style which are sometimes packed to sell in Isetan Departmentstore and the wooden teak kitchenware could attract you to buy some as stylish souvenirs from Thailand.
